Vision

“Our students will become lifelong learners, creative thinkers and productive citizens who will advocate for equity and accessibility.”

Our students will contribute positively to a global society. The Dual Language Program prepares them for bilingual and biliterate success while developing multicultural competency.

Mission

Equity, accessibility, and rigorous learning

The Bilingual Bicultural Mini School commits to fostering equity, accessibility, and technology integration across everything we do. We provide rigorous learning opportunities in a supportive environment where students develop academic, social and emotional growth.

That commitment shows up in the daily work of the building — in dual-language instruction from Kindergarten on, in our approach to mathematics and STREAM-based learning, and in the schoolwide social-emotional framework described on our Commitment to Social & Emotional Learning page.

Five priority areas guide our school goals

  1. Goal 1Literacy DevelopmentIncrease ELA proficiency in Grades 3–5 by 10 percent, to 72.33 percent.
  2. Goal 2Student SafetyReduce Level 3 infractions by 10 percent, to 24.78 percent.
  3. Goal 3Academic ExcellenceRaise New York State Math proficiency by 10 percent, to 77 percent.
  4. Goal 4College & Career ReadinessIncrease parent and student involvement in the IEP process by 13 percent, to 95 percent.
  5. Goal 5Family EngagementGrow family participation by 20 percent, to 190 parents.

Additional priorities

  • Improve attendance for students in temporary housing to 96 percent.
  • Enhance math performance for students with disabilities to 54.4 percent.
